The first skateboard magazine in the Middle East.
SAHARA is a skate, culture, and media platform born in Egypt — built to document a movement the rest of the world hasn’t been watching. We put the region’s skaters, artists, and storytellers on the record, in print and online.
Our mission
To build the definitive home for skateboarding and street culture across Egypt and the Middle East — and to prove a world-class scene can grow from our own concrete. We give it a voice, an archive, and a stage.
What we cover
Skate. Culture. Interviews. Media. Events. Editorial. From street sessions and skateparks to the musicians, filmmakers, and photographers moving the culture forward — plus the jams that bring it all together.
The team
SAHARA was founded by Egyptian skater Yassin Koptan. Today it’s made by a collective of skaters, writers, photographers, and filmmakers from across the region — every story carries a byline. Meet the people behind the work on our contributors page.
Editorial standards
We report with respect for the people and places we cover. Stories are written by named contributors, dated on publication, and grounded in first-hand reporting and interviews. When we get it wrong, we correct it.
