We sat down with Misty to revisit his early skateboarding days — when being rebellious meant popping ollies at Cairo’s skate spots — and to discuss his evolution into a passionate DJ and music producer determined to put Egypt on the global music map.
From the cracked ledges of his first sessions to packed dancefloors, Misty’s story is one of restless reinvention. Skating taught him fearlessness; music gave him a language. The two have never really stopped feeding each other.
In this conversation we trace his journey from sponsored grom to studio rat, the producers and scenes that shaped his sound, and why he believes Egyptian music is on the verge of something the world can’t ignore.
