Some of the scene pushed back on the Top 10 — that skateboarding shouldn't be ranked at all, and that the results were wrong. Here's our answer, and the eight criteria in full.
Skater of the Year 2025: Saif Wael
Skater of the Year 2025 goes to Saif Wael — Cairo local, Zamalek-raised, eighteen years old, with style and consistency you can't teach.
Skater of the Year isn't a popularity contest. It's for the kid who shows up, puts the work in, and makes the session feel alive.
Saif Wael — Cairo local, raised in Zamalek, and still only eighteen. You've probably seen him rolling with the Amulet Skate Shop crew. He might not have the biggest bag, but he's got the stuff you can't really teach: insane smooth style, consistency that's annoying in the best way, and a love for stairs like they personally offended him.
He started how most of us start — saw a friend skating, tried it, ate it, got back up, and then it turned into a daily thing. That hunger never left.
Skater of the Year, for us, is all about impact. And Saif's impact this year was louder than these words.
Respect, lil bro. Fully earned.
